Refugee Week Derby


PICNIC IN THE PARK

Music from around the world, bouncy castles, family games, drama, arts, children’s activities. Bring a rug and picnic.

Organised by Upbeat Communities with the Equality and Human Rights Youth Network, local churches and community groups.

Derby Arboretum. (Parking at Grove Street car park Normanton Road).

Sunday 13th June. 1 – 5 pm. Free entry.

Come and hear inspirational migrant and refugee experiences or join in a game of chess with refugees from different countries.

FILM EVENT - NO MAN’S LAND (15)

Set amid the heaviest fighting between Bosnian and Serbian forces, two wounded soldiers are stranded in 'No Man's Land'. One a Bosnian and the other a Serb are forced to join forces as both sides are firing at them. No Man's Land is a poignant and darkly humorous look at war and deservedly won the Best Foreign Language Oscar in 2001.

The film will be introduced by Ferid Kevric of the Derby Bosnia-Herzegovina Community Association. With light refreshments everyone welcome.
