The rain held off and this was a great event with loads of balloons! Lots of visitors came to the stall to pick up leaflets and information about Derby Refugee Week events and to chat about their experiences as well as join in with Refugee Action's destitution campaign. Thank you for your support!

This informative event was well attended.


FILM – THE KITE RUNNER (12A)

The QUAD

An adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s best-seller by Marc Foster (Quantum Of Solace). This screening was introduced by David Callow, national board member of Amnesty International, to coincide with Refugee Week events in Derby.

Refugee Week Derby would like to say a BIG thankyou to the Quad for supporting 16 asylum seekers and refugees so that they could take part in this event and see this film.


MAYORS TEA PARTY FREE EVENT

The Mayors Suite, The Council House

This exciting event gave an opportunity for visitors to learn about other cultures through tea making. A great event to do the Simple Act of having tea with a refugee.


CITIZENSHIP INFORMATION DAY

Pear Tree Library

This information event was open to all.

This was a great event in a local Derby library.

This event celebrated our diverse city through dance, music, food and arts.
