We believe that if everyone does at least one of these simple actions, we could make a big change to the way refugees are perceived in the UK.

Simple Acts Schools Competition 2011

A big thank you to all the schools who have taken part in our competition this year. We've had some amazing entries and everyone can see how much thought and empathy, creativity and fun has gone into it. We are well amazed by the results. So far, we have identified more than 3000, potentially even more Simple Acts for our counter that were generated through this competition alone. Have a look at our gallery which shows some of the entries.

And the winner is...

Bigfoot logo

Simple Acts is partnering up with Bigfoot Theatre, a pioneering arts education company that uses performing arts and creative arts disciplines to ignite the imaginations of students and teachers within mainstream schools. Bigfoot will be basing one module of their repertoire on Simple Acts and will promote the campaign through a large network to schools all over the UK. This is exciting news, so watch this space.

Awards for Bridging Cultures

We are very proud to announce that Simple Acts has won a £5000 award at the end of 2010. In the acclaimed Awards for Bridging cultures, run by the Institute for Community Cohesion (iCoCo), Simple Acts was declared ‘Commended Project for promoting intercultural dialogue'.

Judges felt this was a really good and effective approach at encouraging people to tackle a difficult issue. They thought it was an imaginative, ambitious project with a wide reach, which is clearly gaining momentum over time. They welcomed the ambitious plans to take the project into schools and use it to engage young people.” Taken from the ABC awards website
